Overcoming Loneliness: Strategies and Support with Minds of Light

"Allison, can you talk to me about loneliness?"

"I actually can. You know, so many millions, actually millions of people, suffer from loneliness. People of all ages, young people, people whose parents are gone all the time and don't have time for them. People in their 20s and 30s whose families just don't have families, or you know, people my age and people of all different types. So, if you're alone and you're feeling lonely, there are ways to feel better. Journaling is one of them. How do you know when you feel lonely? What does it feel like for you?"

"For me, I feel this sense of emptiness inside, just alone."

"If you feel lonely right now, just walk outside and like, even the next person that you see, you know, just be vulnerable and say, 'Hello.' There are good people out there. There's not only just crazy people out there."

"Yeah, don't be scared of people. That's right. I want you, you're probably, you know, just do it. Just go out there and talk to somebody. Yeah, don't be afraid to reach out. And if you need help, there are organizations out there to help you, like Minds of Light."

"Yeah, like Minds of Light. There's an organization you can reach out to. Their website, we'll go ahead and we'll put it on the video, and don't ever feel like you can't ask for help."
