Embracing Joy: The Power of Play in Adulthood
Sometimes it seems like striving for happiness is an unachievable goal. I know it's something I've really thought about a lot in my years on this planet. There's a concept I want to bring forward to you which is the concept of play. When is the last time that you did something you would consider play?
Something like when you were a kid, what did you do? You really enjoyed? What were your favorite toys? What were your favorite? Games? What was your favorite activity? Think about that. And that's what you used to do to play even if you forgotten and you think like, I am an adult. I am not a play person. I do not play but lighten up a little. And that willingness to consider what you used to do to play and try it out as an adult is a great way to become more emotionally resilient than to become more happy.
Play is studied in science in neuroscience and psychology and sociology. There's a great book called play by Stuart Brown. If you want to learn more about that it will help you find ways to recognize how you can play in life and do that. Have a great day.
