Embracing Vulnerability: The Power of Daring Greatly

Are you under the assumption that being vulnerable is being weak? I want you to use that because if you are, being vulnerable takes a lot of bravery. Brenee Brown has written a book called "Daring Greatly," and it talks about the power and importance of being vulnerable with others in your life. There are a lot of myths that vulnerability is a sign of weakness, and it's not. It's actually a great way to build intimacy with others. So what drives your fear of being vulnerable? Are you doing things that unconsciously will protect you from being in a place of vulnerability? And if you are not vulnerable and really say how you feel in situations and state your truth, what are you losing out on? I mean, you could be losing out on a lot: a promotion, or a better relationship, all kinds of things. And here's a challenge to you: in an upcoming conversation with somebody, challenge yourself to be more vulnerable. And you might be surprised; most people will be vulnerable with you in return. That's a good thing. So give it a try.
