Cultivating Loyalty: Building Trust and Connection in Relationships
Loyalty. Is that important to you? For me, it's like a core value. Loyalty is something that I can do to a fault. I can be so loyal sometimes that it's detrimental, if you will. But loyalty is a great mindset to have and something to contemplate. The way to cultivate loyalty in your relationships is to be loyal yourself. So demonstrate what loyalty looks like to you. Care for others. Reach out to them. Maintain your relationships with them. Set your expectations and then live up to them. Empower others in your life to make choices. And don't forget to thank people for what they do. Don't hold that in if you see something and you're like, 'Dang that! I'm so glad that person did that.' Or, you know, something, you're just like, 'Wow, that was awesome.' Recognize that? That also is a way to cultivate and build loyalty in your relationships. Our book on this is 'Leaders Eat Last' by Simon Sinek, which is an awesome, awesome thought leader. He talks about the importance of creating a culture of trust and loyalty in your workplace. And this is a great book to read whether you're in charge of the workplace or not to understand what helps people feel valued and feel secure on the everyday. And that will build trust and that mutual trust is going to help build loyalty in your relationships. Let me know how that goes.
