Unlocking Positivity: The Power of Cognitive Reframing

It's called cognitive reframing. That's a psychology term but let me tell you how to do it. I haven't redefined to tell you how to do it, right. Just skip to the good stuff. Okay. describe that situation you're in right now. All right, right now sitting in my office, making some videos for you. Visualize alternative scenarios. Imagine the situation from an opposing point of view. So I want to know how the person watching this video is thinking about cognitive reframing right now and what questions they might have. Well, that'll help me understand some elements that are outside of my control. I don't have any control over who's watching this what you're thinking about it. Maybe you're thinking this is really dumb. I don't know why I'm watching this video. I'm just gonna skip ahead. And finally, Oh, see, I went right to the negative. So the next step is to find a positive spin on that. What outcome is possible that is positive and imagine as many as you can, I don't know. But if I make a difference in someone's life, you know, they learned something, they heard a tip, they tried it out, and they're like a better person for it. That would make me feel really happy because making the world a better place. I like to do that. So another way to do it is to pretend that you're an outsider, and you're observing what I what beliefs that you might have that are holding you back. So for myself in making these videos, I definitely have a belief that you might think this is all kind of dumb and why am I like, why am I out here saying stuff anyway? And then I had to just reframe it for myself and remind myself that can help people. And so that's all good. And I'm willing to just put myself out there for that reason. Hope you're okay with that. If you want to learn more about that it's part of neural linguistic programming techniques. And there's a book called Mind Over mood, which is pretty cool. And it gives you guidance for restructuring and reframing detrimental thought patterns, bad thought patterns that we get stuck. In and we repeat over and over again. You can change them, we can reprogram them, check out this book. The authors are not something I listed on my card. Anyway, there's a QR code is called Mind Over mood look it up. There's a link right here.
