Embracing Imperfection: The Path to Self-Acceptance
This morning, I read this great quote, which is "comparison is the thief of joy." And I think that's really profound. It brings me to the concept of self-acceptance. And it's important to accept yourself for who you are because who you are is perfect just the way that you were made. Everyone, though, is a work in progress. We all kind of are working on ourselves in various ways. I hope. If you're not, you should. It's not about being perfect. Don't strive for perfection, just, you know, get to where you're happy in the moment, and you can be okay with it. Start accepting imperfection, I think is the key there. And celebrate even small wins can help you build a sense of self-acceptance, and acknowledge your unique abilities and accomplishments. There's a great book by Brenée Brown, which we've talked about, "The Gift of Imperfection," and she talks about the unattainable sabotaging expectations that get in the way of your own self-acceptance. So reflect on that for a moment. Thanks.
