Building Trust: Discovering Purpose and Connection"

How do you build trust with another person? It's a true statement that we tend to trust people that we can relate to more so than people that we can't relate to. So how do you build trust between another person? One way is to figure out what your purpose is. So it's not obviously a perfect or permanent statement. But you can write down a few phrases that encapsulate what it is that represents your life's purpose. For me, for example, you're looking at it. I have a purpose to improve the emotional intelligence of everyone. And that's what I'm here for. So what are you here for? Write down a few possibilities, even if they're not the perfect ones. We all have options and talk to somebody about the person that you want to build trust with. Ask them what their purpose is. Tell them what your purpose is, or multiple potential purposes until you really figure it out. When you share your purpose with another person and they share it with you, you'll get a better understanding of the other person and what their perspective is and the same will be for you. There's a book called "The Road Less Traveled" by M. Scott Peck, and it is a book that starts out with the assertion that life is difficult. We have to be here to learn and grow otherwise, it's pretty dismal, I think. Yeah, try that. See if you can figure out what your purpose is and work on that. Big stuff, I know.
